Getting to Pontfaen village and Ty Hedfan by car

From London / and East: (3-3.5 hours)

M4 until jnct 24, head north on A449 (dual carriageway), after 10mins come off at Abergavenny sign and head west along A40. Go though centre of abergavenny and continue on A40 for approximately 30mins until a large roundabout, follow sign to Brecon. Continue through Brecon (see map on left) and make sure you don't cross the bridge over the river but take go straight on at the junction towards Cradoc/Battle.

From Midlands / North:

M5 then M50, which turns into the A40. Turn off A40 at Abergavenny signpost and continue as above.

Getting to Abergavenny by train

The Newport - Shrewsbury/Manchester line which runs through Abergavenny is very good, but from Abergavenny its either a taxi (approx £35) or get others in your group to pick you up. Its possible to do London to Abergavenny in under 2.5 hours, changing at Newport. http://www.abergavennytaxis.co.uk/

If you're keen, Abergavenny to Pontfaen by bike is possible in about 2.5 hours.
